The message, signed by the acting vice-chancellor, Prof. Patricia Manko Lar, described the victory as well-deserved and a proud moment for the university, noting that Okpebholo is a distinguished alumnus of the institution.

Lar said, “On behalf of the university community, I warmly congratulate Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State on the affirmation of his electoral victory by the Supreme Court on Thursday 10 August 2025.

“We have no doubt that this victory is truly well-deserved, not only for your party and the good people of Edo State, but also as a proud and inspiring moment for the alumni association of our great university,” she said, adding that, “I rejoice with you and wish you continued success as you continue to serve the people of Edo State.

“We urge you to continue providing credible, people-focused leadership and to demonstrate, as a distinguished alumnus of our great university, that your commitment to service and humanity remains unshakable,” the acting vice chancellor said.
