National Sports Association for Judiciary (NASAJ) has concluded its long-awaited harmonised national election, putting an end to a protracted leadership crisis which began in 2024 when two rival factions emerged within the association.
The breakthrough came after an extraordinary congress session was convened, during which both factions were dissolved to pave the way for a unified leadership process. In that same session, a protem speaker was nominated and a new independent electoral committee was constituted to oversee fresh elections.

The newly elected officials were sworn in by the Commissioner of Oath, Zainab Kassim, Esq.
The following officers emerged unopposed, with no contestation or rancor from any quarters.
They are Noah Sunday , President, Mustapha Mohammed, Vice President, Aliyu Musa Ahmed, Secretary General, Murtala Kusheki, Treasurer and Saliu Olarotimi, Financial Secretary
Others are Akoji Adah, Welfare Secretary, Suleiman Musa Suleiman , Public Relations Officer, Ibrahim Baba, Assistant PRO and Emmanuel John, Assistant Secretary General
In his acceptance speech, newly elected NASAJ President, Hon. Noah Sunday, expressed deep appreciation to the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Hon. Justice Kudirat Motonmori Olatokunbo Kekere-Ekun on whose behalf the annual Judiciary Sports Competition is held. He also commended the Chief Registrar of the Supreme Court, Barr. Kabir Eniola Akanbi, for providing the enabling environment that ensured the success of the election.
He also acknowledged the professionalism of security personnel present at the venue and praised both voters and non-contenders for conducting themselves with decorum and demonstrating true sportsmanship.
“The professional media coverage of this event will not go unnoticed,” Hon. Sunday added, before affirming the new executive’s commitment to justly steering the affairs of NASAJ over the next four years.
“On behalf of the entire executive council, I wish to say that we are deeply humbled by the trust reposed in us. We hereby accept the mandate to serve and uplift the ideals of this noble association,” he concluded.
