A 2024 Law graduate of Babcock University (BU), Daniella Okamgba, has emerged as a standout student at the Nigerian Law School, Abuja.
She graduated with a first-class degree and received five prestigious awards for academic excellence at the 2025 Call to Bar ceremony held in Abuja, FCT.
Her awards include the Justice Olujide Shomolu Award for Best Student in Civil Litigation, the Dodo OFR SAN Award for Best Female Student in Civil Litigation, and the Hon. Justice Aloma Mariam Mukhtar GCON Award for Best Female Student in Civil Litigation.
She also received the Chief T.O.S. Benson OFR SAN Award for Best Student of the Year (3rd Prize), as well as the Prize for First Class Student.
This marked a historic milestone for the institution, with 5,728 new lawyers called to the bar, the highest number in Nigeria’s legal history. The event was organized by the Nigerian Body of Benchers and the Nigerian Law School.
Babcock University’s President and Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ademola Tayo, expressed pride in Daniella’s achievement, describing it as “great and newsworthy.”
“We are truly happy about this news. She and nine others from Babcock have brought honour to the university. I pray for God’s blessings upon every one of them. For Daniella, this is the beginning of great things to come, and we wish her well in all her endeavours,” he said.
