Niger State government has inaugurated a 17-member African Union Development Agency (AUDA-NEPAD) Stakeholders Committee in a bid to fight poverty and harness the benefits of globalisation,
The inauguration of the committee was done by the secretary to the government of Niger State (SSG), Alhaji Abubakar Usman, who emphasised the committee’s critical role in advancing sustainable development and economic integration in the state.

The committee is tasked with providing strategic support to the AUDA-NEPAD State Office in key areas, including manpower development, mechanisation, funding for vulnerable groups, capital flow initiatives and overcoming implementation challenges.

He said the initiative aligned with the broader objectives of the African Union Development Agency aimed at fostering regional cooperation, eradicate poverty and promote inclusive growth.

Alhaji Usman underscored the importance of the committee in driving Niger State’s developmental agenda.

“The inauguration of this committee marks a pivotal step in our efforts to combat widespread poverty and integrate our State into the global economy. AUDA-NEPAD provides a robust framework for sustainable development and this committee will serve as the engine room for implementing impactful programmes that uplift our people,” he said.
