Three Nigerians: Professors Remi Raji, Gbemisola Adeoti and cultural advocate, Mr Jahman Anikulapo have been conferred the Nigerian Academy of Letters (NAL) Fellows.

As the highest body of arts and literature in Nigeria, the autonomous, scholarly and non-political state institution is aimed at the advancement of scholarship and public interest in the humanities at the highest level in the country.

The means by which it does the latter is through the conferment of four types of fellows – Foundation Fellow, Regular Fellow (local), Overseas Fellow (resident abroad), and Honourary Fellow. Fellows are elected for a lifetime, and inducted at an investiture, with the right to use the postnominal Fellow of the Nigerian Academy of Letters (FNAL).

A former president of the Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA), poet and dean UNIBADAN, Raji, is recognized for his decades-long commitment to literary excellence and intellectual rigour, with his works widely acclaimed for their literary excellence and philosophical depth.

“Distinguished poet, critic and academic leader, Professor Adeoti, is honoured for his contributions to critical discourse and literary development, as well as his exemplary service in various academic leadership positions.
