Amb Idowu Lead Campaign Against Illegal Mining Activities

In a profound demonstration of traditional leadership aligned with a developmental vision, a business philanthropist Chief Amb Ojo Patrick Idowu JP, the 1st San Turakin Ngaski, has commenced a royal inspection tour to lead campaign against Illegal mining activities across the Ngaski region.

Acting under the noble mandate of the Emirate and in defense of the land’s dignity, the revered titleholder declared a resolute stance against illegal mining activities—calling for order, regulation, and sustainable exploration.

Addressing the newsmen, Idowu emphasized that the natural endowments of Ngaski must be harnessed through lawful means and in partnership with credible stakeholders.

He describe the tour inspection as opportunities investment for the region but only within the bounds of tradition, legality, and community development.

The tour, which commenced earlier this week, was formally declared by the Office of the 1st San Turakin Ngaski, underscoring that the exercise is not a ceremonial ritual but a solemn and strategic obligation of the esteemed traditional title—to safeguard ancestral heritage, harness economic wealth, and secure future prosperity for the Ngaski people.

He noted the visit as a signified not only concern for the land’s welfare but a firm commitment to preserving it for future generations.

He stress that the era of unchecked exploitation was over, vowing that the full weight of the law would be brought to bear on all unlawful operators. He called for harmony between tradition and lawful enterprise, reaffirming the palace’s resolve to uphold justice, equity, and the dignity of Ngaski’s people.

Similarly, he extended deep appreciation to His Royal Majesty, Dr. Muhammad Zayyanu-Abdullahi, CON, the Emir of Yauri and esteemed custodian of the Yauri Kingdom, lauding his fatherly guidance, visionary leadership, and unwavering commitment to upholding the cultural and economic integrity of the emirate.

“His Majesty, the Emir of Yauri, remains a pillar of unity and wisdom,” he noted. “His fatherly oversight continues to inspire our collective pursuit of progress, peace, and purposeful development across the entire Yauri Kingdom.”

During the tour, he also commended His Royal Highness, Alhaji Aliyu Ibrahim Tanko, the respected District Head of Ngaski, for his exemplary leadership and steadfast commitment to peacebuilding. He acknowledged the traditional ruler’s wisdom and proactive role in preserving harmony and upholding the dignity of the land.

“It is deeply troubling to witness individuals operating without licenses, handling explosive devices they have no knowledge of, risking not only their lives but the peace and dignity of our communities,” he said with firm resolve.

The tour is expected to culminate in the production of a comprehensive report and advisory framework to guide reforms, partnerships, and reinvestment in Ngaski’s mining sector, he concluded.”
