Wife Arrested For Killing Husband

Yobe State Police Command, Fika Divisional Police Headquarters, has arrested 35-year-old Hadiza Mamuda, of Garin Abba Village in Fika LGA, for allegedly killing her husband following a heated argument over food items.

Police public relations officer, Yobe Command, SP Dungus Abdulkarim, disclosed this to LEADERSHIP Friday in Damaturu, Yobe State on Wednesday.

He said the suspect allegedly used a log of wood to fatally assault the victim.

According to the him, investigation is ongoing and the suspect would be arraigned in court subsequently.

He said that the victim, a polygamous husband with two wives and five children, including the accused, left behind a grieving family.

The commissioner of Police, CP Emmanuel Ado, emphasised the need for community intervention to address domestic violence and abuse.

He urged religious leaders to intensify sensitisation campaigns on the dangers of physical violence in marital affairs.

He added that the command remains committed to maintaining security and safety for all citizens.
