Christians in Bauchi State have been urged to live in peace with one another and emulate the teachings of Jesus Christ.
The Catholic Bishop of Bauchi Diocese, Bishop Hilary Nanman Dachelem, made the call yesterday during the annual event of the Bauchi Diocese of the Bauchi Deanery held at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Gudum Sayawa.
Represented by the vice general administrator of the diocese, Reverend Father Raphael Agbata, the bishop called on Christians to shun all forms of actions that could lead to disunity and instead promote peace, love and understanding within the Christian community.
Bishop Dachelem also appreciated Catholic faithful for their support and cooperation towards the success of the event, praying for God’s abundant blessings upon them.
On his part, Reverend Father Anthony Nwansu of the Catholic Church Tirwun, who spoke on behalf of the Reverend Fathers, expressed gratitude to various groups and societies for their continued support to the deanery and prayed that God would reward them.
Closing the event, the host, Reverend Father Kefas Emmanuel of St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Gudum Sayawa, expressed joy over the turnout and participation.
He emphasised the importance of the gathering, noting that it was aimed at fostering unity and strengthening the bond among clergy and the faithful.
The event featured praises, worship and dancing, among others.
