Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Sunday, swore in the newly elected chairmen of the 20 Local Government Areas and 37 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs), alongside their deputies.

Sanwo-Olu, at the well-attended event held at the Lagos House, Ikeja, Alausa, charged the chairmen to see their election as opportunity to serve the people and deepen development at the local government by delivering dividends of democracy.

As of 12:30pm, the elected chairmen signed their oaths of office before the mammoth guests.

Recall that Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission, LASIEC, led by Justice Bola Okikiolu-Ighile, had earlier presented Certificates of Return to the elected Chairmen and councillors who emerged winners in the July 12, 2025 local government polls in the state.
