Spokesman of the Command, SP Dungus Abdulkarim, in a statement on Sunday, said the suspect reportedly used a neem stick to attack the health worker after a dispute over medical attention.

According to the statement, the suspect was arrested following a distress call from the hospital’s security personnel to ‘C’ Divisional Police headquarters which swiftly mobilised and arrested the perpetrator.

Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Emmanuel Ado, strongly condemns such acts of violence, warning against taking the law into one’s own hands.

He assures that heavier penalties will be imposed on anyone found guilty.
