The Young Progressives Party (YPP) has reflected on the legacy of the late Senator Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah, one year after his death.

In a statement yesterday, the national chairman of the party, Comrade Bishop Amakiri, described Ubah as a rare gem and a resilient political visionary whose absence continues to be deeply felt within the party and across Nigeria’s political landscape.

“Though a year has passed, the pain of your absence remains ever present,” Amakiri noted.

“Yet, in the face of that sorrow, I find strength in the legacy you left behind — a legacy of courage, conviction and unwavering dedication to the Nigerian people.”

He lauded the late senator’s unyielding political stance and fearless commitment to democratic ideals, highlighting how Ubah’s passion and purpose shaped the path many in the party now follow.

“He led with clarity of purpose and a defiant spirit.

“His political doggedness and firm commitment to the people’s cause continue to inspire us.”

Amakiri said his birthday this year was not just a personal celebration but also a moment of reflection and gratitude for Ubah’s friendship and leadership.

“Your memory is woven into this day for me — a reminder of your impact, your friendship, and the enduring mark you left on our party and our nation,” he said.

Though Ubah is no longer present in body, Amakiri affirmed that his spirit and ideals remain alive in the party’s mission and the broader quest for a better Nigeria.

“Rest on, my brother, political ally, and friend,” Amakiri concluded. “Your light has not dimmed — it shines brightly in all of us who continue to carry your vision forward.”
