Federal Capital Territory Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board (FCT-CPWB) has commenced the screening of 250 intending pilgrims to Israel and Jordan ahead of their spiritual journey, scheduled for August to September 2025.

During the exercise in Abuja, the director of FCT-CPWB, Mrs Gloria Dandam, said the exercise was crucial to preparing the pilgrims for the holy pilgrimage.

“We are having our screening today, our mop-up, because we have done the main screening. This is the second one. Our trip is supposed to be in August-September.

“We might be the second group leaving, so we need to conclude today to forward our list to the Nigerian Christian Pilgrims Commission (NCPC) for visa issuance,” she said.

She disclosed that the screening, conducted in collaboration with the NCPC, would determine the eligibility of applicants.

Dandam emphasised that only those who successfully pass all screening stages would be permitted to make payments for the pilgrimage.

“For the first batch, we screened 140 candidates, most of whom are private pilgrims. Today, we are screening 110.

“Those recommended for the trip will receive messages to make their payments so we can finalise the process and submit everything to NCPC,” she said.
