Forum Lauds Hauwa Abubakar’s Appointment As Borno Attorney-General

The All Konduga Solidarity and Progressive Forum has lauded the appointment of Barr. Hauwa Abubakar as acting Attorney-General of Borno State.

They described Abubakar as a thoroughbred lawyer who has risen through the rank and file to get to the current height of career.

Abubakar was earlier appointed a member of the Presidential Visitation Panel to the University of Abuja from April to June 2021 by President Muhammadu Buhari with the terms of reference which included: Governance, Academic Standard, Quality Assurance, Evaluation of Infrastructure and Instructional Facilities.

The Forum in a statement made available to LEADERSHIP yesterday in Abuja signed by the executive committee and members of the Forum said Abubakar is a consummate technocrat, who has acquired insights into governance imperatives and legal matters.

They said Abubakar’s appointment was a clear demonstration of the competence of governor of Borno State, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, in headhunting the best brains for the growth and development of the state.

“We wish to commend His Excellency, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum for this unique opportunity for our scion, Barr. Hauwa Abubakar to further prove her mettle in the public service. May Allah continue to grant him more wisdom in piloting the ship of our beloved State.

“As Special Adviser on Legal Matters, she efficiently guided His Excellency in handling legal matters and respecting the rule of law. Her appointment as Acting Attorney General of Borno State is a testament to the fact that ‘the reward for hard work is more work.’

“Barr. Hauwa Abubakar is a consummate technocrat, who has acquired insights into governance imperatives and legal matters. She has international exposure and cultivated team spirit in public service too.

“From University of Maiduguri where she cut her teeth in the law profession, to Nigerian Law School and the Birmingham City University in the United Kingdom, and the various places she has worked, she has distinguished herself as a brilliant young lawyer whose trademarks are hard work and diligence,” the statement noted.
