Nigeria’s representatives in the CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup — Remo Stars, Rivers United, Abia Warriors, and Kwara United, will discover their opponents for the preliminary playoffs during the draw, which is set to take place in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania’s capital, for the first time on Saturday, August 9.

NPFL champions Remo Stars and runners-up Rivers United will be flying Nigeria’s flag in the CAF Champions League, while NPFL third-placed Abia Warriors and Kwara United from Ilorin will represent the country in the CAF Confederation Cup.

Saturday’s event will mark the beginning of what promises to be another exciting season of Africa’s premier inter-club competitions — the CAF Champions League and the CAF Confederation Cup.

The Preliminary Round is scheduled to commence on 19 September 2025, followed by the Second Preliminary Round starting on 17 October 2025. The Group Stage of both the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League and TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup will begin on 21 November 2025, with the knockout phase set to commence on 13 March 2026.
