Prior to the team’s departure, Director General of the National Sports Commission (NSC), Hon. Bukola Olopade charged the players to give their all in pursuit of the championship medal.

“I encourage you to go all out for the championship and bring the trophy home. Use the last four qualifying matches, all of which were victories, as your morale booster. Stay relaxed, play your game, and make Nigeria proud,” Olopade said.

Olopade who is currently on official duty in the United Kingdom, expressed his best wishes to the team and assured them of the Commission’s backing.

D’Tigers have been drawn in Group B alongside Tunisia, Cameroon, and Madagascar, and are to face some of the continent’s finest teams as they aim for championship glory.
