They also praise, entertain and eulogise traditional rulers, chiefs and visitors to the Olubadan palace.

The Gbobaniyi Olubadan left the house immediately after their last eulogy of the traditional ruler, Oba Akinloye Owolabi Olakulehin.

Olakulehin who hailed from Ita Baale Ori Okiti in Ibadan North East local government area joined his ancestors on Monday, 7th July this year.

The traditional ruler was buried on Friday.

LEADERSHIP learnt that it had been the tradition for the Gbobaniyi Olubadan to officially sign out from the residence of deceased Olubadan before resuming at the residence of the next Olubadan.

A member of the group, Mr Taiwo Ademola Peter confirmed the final sign out from Olakulehin’s residence.

He said, “Today is our signing out from the late Olubadan house at Alalubosa estate as we are performing our rite as Gbobaniyi Olubadan of Ibadanland.”

Former Governor of Oyo State, Oba Rasidi Adewolu Ladoja is the Olubadan-designate.

The Gbobaniyi Olubadan is to officially resume at Ladoja’s residence any moment from now.

Ladoja who has been away from Ibadan even before Olakulehin’s transition is expected to arrive Ibadan any moment from now.
