Adamawa Flood: Minister Donates Relief Materials

Minister of Livestock Development, Idi Mukhtar Maiha, has consoled the government and people of Adamawa State, over the recent flood which claimed 29 lives, submerged farmlands and destroyed houses.

Maiha, who is from the state, handed over a condolence letter on behalf of the management and staff of his ministry and commended the proactive measures of the state government in tackling the flood.
However, he urged governments to devise remedies to stop the perennial floods that occur annually.
According to him, the ministry stood with the state in its moment of grief and presented relief materials to flood victims.

He said the purpose of the visit is to comfort one another and to be brother-keepers in the true human spirit.

‘Your Excellency, We pray to the Almighty, by his infinite mercy, to repose the souls of the departed and heal those injured, and restore the property and livelihood of those affected.

Earlier, the state deputy governor, Professor Kaletapha Farauta, thanked the minister’s entourage for identifying with people she described as his family members in her remarks.

Farauta noted people’s resilience in the face of the recent devastating flood, reiterating the government’s vigour in providing relief support to those affected to ameliorate their suffering.
