Division One Volleyball League: Bayonet Spikers, Sokoto Caliphate, Others Shine In Day2

The second day of the 2025 Nigeria’s National Division I Volleyball League in Abuja witnessed several thrilling matches, showcasing the competitive spirit of the participating teams.

In the opening match, the Bayonet Spikers faced off against Ekiti Queens, delivering a closely contested battle. The Spikers emerged victorious with a straight-set win, taking both sets 25-23, demonstrating their resilience and determination on the court.

In another exciting encounter, the Fire Service Spikers dominated NIS, winning in straight sets as well. The first set ended convincingly at 25-14, followed by a 25-17 victory in the second set, solidifying their position in the league.

Contrastingly, Safety Queens struggled against Sokoto Caliphate, suffering a straight-set defeat. The Queens were outplayed, with the Caliphate taking the first set 25-17 and the second set 25-21, showcasing their strength and tactical prowess throughout the match.

NetForce also claimed a convincing victory over Plateau Queens, winning both sets 25-19 and 25-22. Their performance highlighted their strategic plays and effective teamwork, further enhancing their standing in the league.

The Vipers continued their strong performance, defeating Excelsior in straight sets. The Vipers won the first set 25-22 and dominated the second set 25-15, proving their capability as a formidable contender in the competition.

In the final match of the day, Adamawa Spikers clashed with Bayelsa Queens in a thrilling encounter that went to three sets. After losing the first set 24-26, Adamawa rallied to win the next two sets 25-14 and 15-9, securing a hard-fought victory.

As Day 2 of the league concludes, the results set the stage for an exciting continuation of the tournament, with teams vying for supremacy in Nigeria’s National Division I Volleyball League.
