Not fewer than 100 suspected political thugs were arrested on Saturday while trying to disrupt the ongoing by-election in Bagwai/Shanono area of Kano State.

There was massive deployment of security personnel comprising the Nigerian Police, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) as well as officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) at Bagwai and Shanono.

The operatives barricaded the entrance the voting constituency to where they apprehended the suspected thugs.

Kano State Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) of the Independence National Electoral Commission (INEC), Ambassador Abdu Zango disclosed this to journalists at the INEC local government headquarters at Bagwai.
