To bolster regulatory effectiveness and enhance governance standards, a high-level national conference and workshop on “Regulating for Global Standards and Best Practices” will be held from August 28 to 29, 2025, at the Public Service Institute of Nigeria, Kubwa, Abuja.

The event, organised by Allied Bond Consulting in collaboration with PIFS Conferences and Seminars, was announced in a press statement by the programme coordinator, Sir T. Willie Tawo. The initiative aims to reposition Nigeria’s regulatory bodies in alignment with global best practices and the federal government’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

According to the organisers, the programme will address pressing challenges facing regulatory institutions, including overlapping jurisdictions, regulatory conflicts, divergent enforcement strategies, and legal and institutional framework weaknesses.

The goal, they said, is to develop actionable strategies for strengthening regulatory institutions for improved service delivery and governance outcomes.

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator Dr. George Akume, will serve as the special guest of honour and is scheduled to deliver the keynote address at the opening ceremony.

The workshop targets senior officials of regulatory bodies, particularly heads and directors responsible for Regulatory Affairs, Compliance, Legal Matters, Standards, and Service Delivery (Servicom).

This effort is part of a broader agenda to streamline regulatory oversight, reduce inefficiencies, and position Nigeria’s regulatory landscape for sustainable national development,” the statement reads in part.
