Confirming the imminent deal on his X handle, football transfer expert David Ornstein, wrote; “Arsenal reach agreement in principle with Crystal Palace to sign Eberechi Eze.

“Deal worth around expired £68m release clause – matching what #THFC were ready to pay. Personal terms close + 27yo plays for #CPFC on Thurs before #AFC medical.”

That would, in turn, have freed up striker space to try and sign Yoane Wissa, who played under Thomas Frank at Brentford.

Eberechi Eze and Marc Guehi continued to train with Crystal Palace despite speculation linking them with moves away from the club.

Earlier on Wednesday, Oliver Glasner said that both Eze and Liverpool transfer target Marc Guehi will start in Thursday’s Conference League play-off against Fredrikstad despite continued speculation.
