Signal Alliance Technology Holding (SATH), through the SATH Foundation, has launched the AI Experience Center at the Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO). This initiative redefines the role of technology in education by providing students and faculty with direct access to cutting-edge AI-powered tools for research, learning, and innovation.
Introduced under the theme “Experience AI. Imagine More,” the Center bridges the divide between classroom theory and real-world application. It creates an environment where learners can experiment with artificial intelligence, explore its potential in solving local and global challenges, and build competencies that align with the demands of the future
workforce.
SATH is committing $300,000 over the next five years to ensure the Center’s continued operations, upgrade its learning infrastructure, and build capacity for AI-related research across multiple academic departments. This multi-year commitment underscores SATH’s focus on sustainability, enabling the Center to remain a vital resource for both students and faculty well into the future.
The launch event featured an official ribbon-cutting ceremony, a guided tour of the facility, and demonstrations showcasing real-world applications of AI within academic contexts.
Attendees witnessed firsthand how the Center enables project-based learning and fosters collaboration among students, researchers, and industry stakeholders.
“This partnership with FUTO reflects our belief in technology as a driver of growth,” said Collins Onuegbu, Chairman of SATH. “By investing in education, we are shaping talent that will lead Africa’s digital transformation.
Professor Emeka Oguzie, Deputy Vice Chancellor of Research and Innovation at FUTO, noted: “We are not just building a facility; we are opening doors to the future. With support from SATH, our students can now engage with advanced technologies in ways that prepare them to solve pressing challenges and create new possibilities.”
The AI Experience Center at FUTO represents a significant step forward in industry- academia collaboration. By combining SATH’s expertise with FUTO’s academic strength, the project serves as a model for how partnerships can accelerate Africa’s journey toward digital transformation, innovation, and global competitiveness.
