Abese Set For Baale’s Installation As New School Facilities Open

The Abese community in Ewekoro local government area of Ogun State is in a celebratory mood as preparations heighten for the installation of the Baale of Orile-Abese, High Chief Olawale Aikulola, scheduled for Saturday, August 30th, 2025.

Ahead of the royal event, the state commissioner for chieftaincy and local government affairs, Hon. Ganiyu Hamzat, commissioned newly built classrooms and other facilities at Methodist Primary School, Abese, on Wednesday, August 20th, 2025.

The project was reconstructed by the executive chairman of Ewekoro LGA, Hon. Sikiru Adisa Adesina, and the commissioning attracted dignitaries, including the Olu of Itori, Oba Akorede Akamo, and the Elejio of Ejio, Oba Sesan Ogunmuyiwa.

The installation ceremony, to be performed by the Olowu of Owu Kingdom, Abeokuta, Oba (Prof.) Saka Adelola Matemilola will be held at Methodist Primary School, Abese, starting from 9 a.m. Traditional rulers expected include the Alawowo of Awowo, Oba Abdul Gafar Tijani; the Olorile of Orile Ifo, Oba Abdul Semiu Ogunjobi; the Onipapa of Papalanto, Oba Abdul Rasak Famuyiwa; and the Olu of Abule Owu, Oba Abdul Wasiu, among others.

Also expected are the chairman of the Council of Baales of Ewekoro LGA, Engr. Olufemi Olatidoye, who is Baale of Adeagba; and the chairman of Baale Owu Council General (Ifo and Ewekoro LGAs), Mukaila Ogunsola, Baale of Oke Oko.

In a statement, the chairman of the Media Committee of the installation, Mr Muyiwa Akintunde, noted that Abese has witnessed remarkable development since High Chief Aikulola assumed the stool several years ago, citing a major road project that has eased access to the community and other infrastructure initiatives.

The Baale expressed gratitude to the Olowu and his traditional council for their support and appreciated the contributions of indigenes and well-wishers. “We thank God for the opportunity he has given us in Abese town to improve the lives and living conditions of our people, who now have a new lease of life,” he said.
