Stakeholder Seeks collaboration To Strengthen Corporate Governance

Stakeholders have emphasised the importance of collaboration between the public and private sectors to strengthen corporate governance and drive national transformation.

This message was centre at the Political Economy and Leadership Summit 2025, on the themed “Political Economy of Nation Building: The World’s Unfinished Business.” in Abuja, yesterday.

The stakeholders asserted that public-private sector collaboration was crucial for corporate governance in Nigeria, as they shared their aspirations for economic growth through proper corporate governance.

Speaking the President International Institute of Experts and Political Economy and Administration Prof. Tunji John Asaolu underscore the summit as a signifies a collective commitment to address one of the most pressing challenges facing our nations in this era of rapid change.

This summit, organized by the International Institute of Experts on Political Economy and Administration (IIEPEA) Canada, in collaboration with the United World Congress of Diplomats (UN-WCD), aims to explore the complicated relationship between political economy and nation-building the pathways through achieve our developmental goals.

He emphasized that the concept of the political economy of nation-building encapsulates the interplay between politics, economics, and societal factors in shaping governance and public policy.

This summit also feature the induction of Ambassadors in the capacity of Special Emissary into the United World Congress of Diplomats (UN-WCD). the International Institute of Experts on Political Economy and Administration (IIEPEA – CANADA) and inducting some members as fellows issue a certificate of Confirmation as Global expert to some individuals who have successfully completed 35 credit hours in the Continuing Professional Development Programme (CPDP) and has fulfilled the rigorous International Standards Registration Requirements.

Their remarkable achievements stand as a testament to their dedication, hard work, and unwavering commitment to excellence. This honor is truly well-deserved! With this, I urge you to channel your talents and accomplishments towards the greater good.

Meanwhile, Prof Christopher Imumolel said
Nigeria political economy is trapped in various circle, one political power. It’s such to gain control over oil rent. Control of this strength is used to build Patronic network to maintain political power.

He said, “This system discouraged productive economy and the development of strong impersonal institution such as Independent judiciary, Civil service, and regulatory body framework.

He advice that states should begin building institution that can enforce rule, protect property rights, and encourage investment in human capital and non-oil sector like Agriculture, Manufacturing technology to develop our nation.
