A member of the state House of Assembly, Hakeem Jamiu, who gave the charge, said the state  government had made provision for the people to access free health services in public health facilities across the state.

Jamiu who is representing Irepodun/Ifelodun Constituency II in the State 7th Assembly spoke on Wednesday in his home town, Igbemo Ekiti , in Irepodun/Ifelodun local government area of the state during a free health program he organized to mark his 60th birthday.

The former deputy speaker of the Assembly, also called on the people to keep supporting the state governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to keep enjoying more dividends of democracy.

The lawmaker, who noted that the state government is doing a lot for both children and the aged through provision of free healthcare said, “Part of the policies of the state government is that, healthcare delivery and access is free for people from age 65.

That has been put in place for the aged which started since the time of the immediate past administration of Dr. Kayode Fayemi. Anyone above 65 will be treated free of charge at any primary health center in the state. It is also free for children between the age 0 to 5. So all of that has been taken care of by the state government.

“All we need to do more is sensitization and enlightenment for these categories of people to know that the government has made some free health programs available for them to access. Many of the people don’t know what is happening here today, they can also access freely in any public health facilities in their towns and villages”.

While soliciting support for the governor and his party APC, he said, “Politics are gathering momentum now, my message to my constituents is that they should stick with APC and shun violence.
