Global media powerhouse TIME has announced the launch of TIME Africa, a regional editorial expansion set to deliver trusted journalism and live events across the continent in collaboration with Global Venture Partners (GVP).

The platform, which will go live in September 2025 at africa.time.com, will serve as a hub for digital content and events, available in both English and French. It will be distributed across more than 50 African countries, including Nigeria, South Africa, Egypt, Kenya, Ghana, Ethiopia, and Morocco.

“TIME has provided trusted journalism and thoughtful perspectives to readers around the world for over a century. With the launch of TIME Africa, we are continuing our commitment to reach new audiences, further our presence and coverage of the continent’s leaders, visionaries, and changemakers, and shine a spotlight on the stories that matter most. We are pleased to collaborate with Global Venture Partners to bring this platform to the continent,” said Jessica Sibley, Chief Executive Officer of TIME.

Josh Wilson, Managing Director of Global Venture Partners, described the partnership as both timely and significant.

“TIME is one of the most respected and recognized brands in the world, and we are proud that GVP was selected as the trusted partner for the brand’s Africa expansion. Africa is going through massive transformation across business, culture, and society, and now more than ever it is critical that the continent has a dedicated platform within TIME to spotlight its growth and impact on the world stage,” Wilson said.

The launch comes as TIME experiences what it called a period of “dynamic growth and innovation.” The brand now reaches more than 120 million people worldwide, its largest and most diverse audience in history.

TIME’s relationship with Africa is not entirely new. Its in-depth reporting has regularly featured the continent’s leaders and movements, including the TIME100 Impact Awards Africa, hosted in Rwanda, which honored global figures such as Danai Gurira, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, and Fred Swaniker. African leaders and activists have also been consistently recognized in TIME’s global lists, from the TIME100 to the TIME Climate List.

In 2021, Ugandan climate activist Vanessa Nakate was featured on the cover of TIME’s “The Climate Issue” and later named a recipient of the 2023 TIME Earth Awards. More recently, the 2025 TIME100 Health list included Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director-General of the World Health Organisation (WHO).

TIME also frequently highlights African destinations in its World’s Greatest Places series, underscoring the continent’s cultural and environmental significance.

With TIME Africa, the company said it intended not only to expand its footprint but also to ensure Africa’s transformation in business, society, and culture is given global visibility.
