Benue State Governor Hyacinth has said no local government area in the state would be left behind in terms of development and provision of facilities, saying more projects would soon be unveiled.

Speaking to newsmen in Makurdi yesterday while taking journalists round some of the projects executed by the governor in the past two years, his chief press secretary, Tersoo Kula, said the projects include an underpass, roads as well as the fruit juice factory and newly acquired machines for juice extraction, adding that the governor was concerned about the plight of every Benue person.

According to him, when Governor Alia came to office, he flagged off 16 roads in Makurdi metropolis which were all completed within one year, after which 25 more roads were flagged off and most of them have been completed.

He said the governor had constructed over 390km of roads across the state, with massive renovation and construction of schools and primary health cares in each of the 23 local government areas, among other projects.

On the source of funds for the projects, he said prudent management of resources and the blocking of leakages from internal revenue among others had contributed greatly to  successful execution of the projects.

The journalists were taken round completed and on-going projects.

The technical consultant for the Food Basket Brewery, producers of Zeva Beer, Mr Oladipo Loto, said upon completion, the brewery would produce over 600,000 crates of beer alongside other carbonated drinks annually.

Loto said the brewery would officially commence  production in November.

“We are not only concentrating on beer production, we are also producing other carbonated drinks and I want to inform you that all the machines needed for the take-off of the factory are already on ground for installation,” he said.

He described the brewery as first of its kind in the northern Nigeria, adding that, it would provide employment opportunities for unemployed youths and boost the state’s economy.
