The Poultry Association of Nigeria (PAN), Abia State chapter, has bemoaned the impacts of COVID-19 on their businesses, resolving to unify against their common challenges.

‎The chairman, Chris Obasi, stated this while addressing journalists at the end of a stakeholders’ meeting of the members in Umuahia, the state capital

‎”Many of us are still grappling with the impacts. However, our shared experiences and collective strategies will strengthen and see us through.

“We know our problems better than outsiders, and together we can improve our practices, share experiences, and seek support from the right places,” he said.

‎He noted that unity remains a critical tool for achieving resilience as farmers not only learn from one another but also find encouragement when challenges are shared and collectively tackled.

‎He lauded the conveners of the meeting which included Innocent Amaegbe, Ikechukwu Agbakuru, Uzomba Ekwuribe and Adio Abayomi, for their commitment to the chapter’s progress.

In a remark, the chapter’s media adviser, Ekwuribe, pledged their cooperation to ensure that the members fostered a strong link and unity among themselves.

‎Drawn from Abia Central and Abia South Zones, they reviewed their past interventions, including efforts to curb the authorities’ alleged illegal levies and extortion of the members.

‎They were notified of the forthcoming PAN 2025 Eastern International Poultry Summit, Nigeria, themed “Livestock Sector: Professionalising and Building Efficiency for Growth.”
