The gang, according to the command, specialises in phone snatching, shop breaking and armed robbery.
The suspects, identified as Abubakar Dayyabu (19), Abdulrahman Danjuma (25), Dahiru Nuhu (21), Muhammad Yahaya (21), Abubakar Idris (20), Bello Babale (34), and Shafi’i Lawal (20) were arrested in Shararrar Pipe/Dan Hako Quarters of Katsina city.

The command’s spokesperson, DSP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, said in a statement that the arrests followed a report lodged at the Sabon Gari Police Division after the gang allegedly broke into a shop behind Katsina Central Market and carted away goods worth an undisclosed amount.

“Upon receipt of the report, our detectives immediately swung into action and tracked the suspects to their hideout, where they were arrested,” the statement read.

Recovered items from the suspects included two cutlasses, two long sharp knives, two clubs, one iron rod, and a black beret.
