Labour Party (LP) in Bauchi State, along with its executives from the ward level, has pledged loyalty to the leadership of Senator Esther Nenadi Usman, following the recent Supreme Court judgment that affirmed her as the legitimate national chairman of the party.

The zonal vice chairman of LP in Bauchi south senatorial district, Rev. Joshua Sunday, who made the pledge in a press statement issued yesterday, emphasised that as law-abiding party faithful, they recognise the authority of the apex court, saying its verdict is final and must be obeyed.

“We call on all our members in Bauchi state and the entire Obedient family to join us in repositioning the Labour Party to ensure its success in every political engagement.”

He decried the state of the nation under the APC-led federal administration, describing it as “a beacon of hopelessness, financial banditry, clanishness, impunity, insecurity, unemployment, inflation, and other negative indices that have engulfed Nigeria in the last 10 years.”

Sunday maintained that rescuing the country from “amateur leadership” was now an act of patriotism.

He reiterated the party’s unwavering support for the coalition to unseat the ruling party and deliver true dividends of democracy to Nigerians.

“Our loyalty to Peter Obi is non-negotiable. We will continue to offer our unflinching support and solidarity in every political struggle to restore Nigeria’s lost glory,” he declared.

Speaking further, Sunday who is also aspiring for the Bauchi state LP chairman, highlighted his achievements as zonal vice chairman, noting that his track record places him in a strong position to lead the party in the state.

He therefore called on the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, to urgently recognise Senator Nenadi Usman as the interim national chairman of LP.

“We urge our executives from the ward level across the 20 local government areas of Bauchi state to unite with us in making the Labour Party a strong and credible opposition platform capable of providing Nigerians with a viable alternative from the grassroots to the top,” Sunday added.
