Founder of EK EdTech Africa, Mr Ephraim Nyigba, has reaffirmed his commitment to empowering the children of cooperative members with 21st Century skills in coding, robotics and innovation.

Nyigba noted that the Summer Coding and Robotics Camp, organised by 301 HAG CMS in partnership with EK EdTech Africa, is designed to equip young participants with relevant digital skills, preparing them for the future of work and innovation.

“We are determined to empower young innovators with skills that matter in today’s digital world,” he said.

Using LEGO Spike Prime and mBot kits, children at the camp engage in exciting, hands-on projects that foster creativity, problem-solving, teamwork, and critical thinking.

The camp provides a fun and inspiring learning environment where young minds can confidently explore technology and innovation. Through this initiative, 301 HAG CMS continues to demonstrate its commitment to nurturing the next generation of leaders and innovators.

Nyigba, an electrical and electronics engineer with over eight years of experience in STEM education, youth empowerment, and robotics facilitation—including officiating at the FIRST LEGO League Challenge across West and East Africa—highlighted the significance of early exposure to STEM.

“The mission of the Summer Coding and Robotics Camp is to equip children with 21st-century digital and problem-solving skills through hands-on learning in coding, robotics, and teamwork,” he explained.

“Our objective is to inspire creativity, innovation, and resilience in young minds, ensuring they are not just consumers of technology but creators and innovators who can thrive in a fast-changing world.”

He stressed that the event stands for education beyond the classroom.

“At 301 HAG CMS, we believe that every child, regardless of background, deserves access to quality STEM education. This camp is not just about building robots; it’s about building confidence, collaboration, and critical thinking.

“It represents a platform where children learn by doing, where mistakes become lessons, and where young Nigerians begin to see themselves as global problem-solvers,” Nyigba added.

He further emphasized Nigerian children’s potential to be intelligent, creative, and resourceful. “By introducing them early to coding, robotics, and STEM competitions, we are preparing them to compete with their peers globally in the U.S., Europe, and Asia.

“This levels the playing field and ensures our children can take their rightful place on the global innovation stage.”

Nyigba also offered advice to aspiring young innovators: “Stay curious, be consistent, and never stop learning. Innovation doesn’t happen overnight—it is built through small steps, persistence, and collaboration.

Take advantage of every opportunity to learn—whether through coding camps, online courses, or community projects. Don’t be afraid of failure, because every setback is a setup for growth.”

He reiterated that robotics and coding are not just future skills, but current economic drivers.

“By training young people in these areas, we are opening pathways to careers in software development, artificial intelligence, engineering, and entrepreneurship.

This platform empowers youth to create their own solutions, launch tech-based businesses, and contribute to industries that will define the future of Nigeria’s economy.”

“We have impacted children by giving them practical exposure to robotics and coding, building their confidence, and preparing them for both local and international competitions.”

To accelerate this vision, Nyigba called for increased support from both the public and private sectors.

“To scale this initiative, we need collaboration—through funding, policy support, provision of STEM labs in schools, and sponsorship of innovation challenges.

When the public and private sectors invest in youth-focused STEM initiatives, we can scale faster and ensure Nigeria becomes a hub of innovation and job creation,” he concluded.
