A statement signed by the Command’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Joshua Ukandu, said the kingpin had long been on the Command’s wanted list.

Ukandu said the killing “follows the recent surge in armed robbery incidents and criminal activities in Iyonu community in Ishielu Local Government Area.”

He explained that operatives of the Command’s Crack Squad, acting on credible intelligence, launched a clearance operation on the criminals’ hideout located in Iyonu Forest, Ishielu LGA on 29th August, 2025.

“During the operation, the hoodlums engaged the operatives in a gun battle.
