Governor Kefas Presents N94bn Additional Budget To Taraba Assembly

Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba State has submitted a N94 billion supplementary appropriation bill for the 2025 fiscal year to the Taraba State House of Assembly for consideration and approval.

The state commissioner for Information and Orientation, Zainab Usman Ahmed, disclosed this while briefing newsmen after the State Executive Council meeting, presided over by Governor Agbu Kefas, at the T.Y Danjuma House in Jalingo.

The Information Commissioner said, the supplementary budget was designed to address strategic and critical development needs in the agriculture and health sectors and in addressing infrastructural gap across the state.

She disclosed that, the health sector will benefit significantly from the allocation, including procuring advanced medical equipment, such as cardiac CT scanners and endoscopic machines to enhance healthcare delivery.

Ahmed further stated that the administration of Governor Kefas places a high premium on the overall progress of the state, and tasked Ministries, Departments and Agencies to prioritise executing projects capable of boosting the state’s economy, improving Internally Generated Revenue (IGR), and reducing over-reliance on allocations from the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC).

She urged government MDAs, on Governor Kefas’s directive, to focus on initiatives that will deliver positive dividends on the lives of the people at the grassroots.
