The PPRO said that the victim had been taken into protective custody at the Awada police station, where he was made to undergo proper medical and mental health evaluation.

Ikenga said that the state Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, advised anyone who was experiencing hardship to rather open up to relations, friends and resort to relevant institutions for justice instead of embarking on a mission to take one’s own life.

“The Command appeals to members of the public to always seek lawful and peaceful solutions to personal challenges, and to reach out to family, friends, or relevant support groups in times of distress”, the state police image-maker stated.
