Our correspondents report that aside from Oduduwa Way GRA, Ladipo and adjoining streets were also flooded, disrupting movement of motorists and pedestrians.

The flooding, which reached knee-level in some spots at Ikeja GRA, started in the evening and forced vehicles to wade slowly through murky water while pedestrians struggled to navigate the submerged road.

Commuters heading into the main Ladipo area were the worst hit as the water extended into connecting streets.

Many residents and road users expressed frustration, blaming the situation on poor drainage systems and lack of government attention to infrastructure.

“This happens almost every rainy season. Nothing is done about it, and our cars keep getting damaged,” said one motorist.

The flood not only created traffic gridlock but also raised health concerns, as stagnant water often becomes a breeding ground for mosquitoes and waterborne diseases.

Shop owners and business operators around the area also lamented poor patronage, as customers avoided the flooded routes.

Residents called on the Lagos State Government and relevant agencies to urgently address the recurrent flooding through proper drainage construction and maintenance.
