NSCDC Apprehends 5 Suspects Over Illegal Fuel Dealing In Zamfara

The Zamfara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has apprehended five suspected people allegedly dealing with Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) linked to bandits activities.

Parading the exhibits of the illegal PMS belonging to the suspects yesterday, the state commandant Sani Mustapha, said the arrests of the suspects was carried out along Talata – Mafara – Jangebe axis on the 5th September after an intelligent report which led to the arrest of the driver, Abbas Umar, a 40 years old in possession of Volkswagen Golf loaded with 42 Jerry cans and three gallons of petrol.

According to him, the impounded fuel totalling 1,260 litres, was reportedly acquired from a filling station in Maradun local government area at the cost of N930 per litre, amounting to N1,171,800.
He stated that the divisional corps office in Talata Mafara local government area has after arresting the suspects and due findings, transferred the case to the state headquarters for further investigation and possible prosecution.

“Today Tuesday, 9th September, 2025, the state command brings before you, the parade of suspected PMS popularly known as fuel or petrol intended for dark spot of Jangebe village of Talata Mafara LGA of Zamfara state in large quantity, violating the national and state executive orders.”

According to the NSCDC state Commandant, after further investigations, it was revealed that those involved in the illegal PMS dealing includes, Aliyu Muhammad 36 years (Manager), ⁠Tukur Wambai 45 years, ⁠Abdullah Tukur 22 years and Yahaya Said a 20 years old.

He stated that during the preliminary investigations by the NSCDC, the suspects confessed that, the PMS was apprehended along T/Mafara – Jangebe axis, the fuel (PMS) were acquired from Siddi Daki Takwas filling station Danbaza of Maradun local government area.

That a total of 1260 litres were impounded without operating licence/clearance from due authority ( Ministry for Internal Security and Home Affairs), and was purchased at a cost of N930 per litre, making the total cost of N1,171,800 and the PMS was intended for Jangebe village in Talata-Mafara local government area.

The Commandant said, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), under the visionary leadership of Commandant General Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi is unprejudiced and poised to ensure that criminality are reduced or possibly eliminated from the society.

“In accordance with the federal and state executive orders, there are restrictions and regulations governing the purchase of petroleum products; in light of these directives, the state command devised proactive measures of curtailing the incessant activities ravaging the state security through the supplies of petroleum products and edibles.

“NSCDC has zero tolerance for criminal conspiracy, criminality and any unethical activities the federation terms unruly; any suspect apprehended shall face astute investigation and upon completion will be arraigned before a competent court of law for necessary prosecution with immediate effect,” the Commandant added.
