Chairman of the Bauchi State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Alhaji Adamu Muhammad Duguri, has reiterated the state government’s commitment to ensuring that all eligible children have access to basic education across the state. He charged communities to protect schools in their areas from vandalism.
Speaking during a media engagement on the achievements of Governor Bala Mohammed’s administration, Duguri appealed to the stakeholders, particularly communities to safeguard school facilities against vandalism.
He noted that one of the major challenges confronting basic education in Bauchi is the destruction of school properties by scavengers, stressing that the government is set to enforce strict laws against perpetrators.
According to him, the state has already put in place concrete measures to strengthen student enrollment, retention, and completion under its campaign drive.
Highlighting SUBEB’s achievements, Duguri listed improved teacher monitoring and evaluation, classroom renovation and construction, enhanced teacher welfare, and the provision of modern technological gadgets.
