Muslim clerics drawn from the 44 local government areas of kano State have launched a special prayer session for the re-election of President Bola Tinubu and the deputy senate president, Senator Barau Jibrin’s gubernatorial ambitions ahead of the 2027 elections.
The clerics under the umbrella body of Tinubu, Barau, Ata (TBA) Movement, also prayed for the state commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Hon. Abdullahi Ata, to be selected by Senator Jibrin as his running mate in 2027.
Sheikh Saminu Khalid, who led the inaugural prayer at Gidan Baban Liya in the Kurna area of the state, said the prayers and religious rites were meant to seek divine intervention for the president’s second term bid and for Jibrin and Ata’s victory.
He said the movement is a grassroots platform to mobilise support for the trio and the All Progressives Congress in the state.
Convener of the movement, Seyi Olorunshola, said the essence of the movement is to pray for divine guidance and success for the leaders in 2027.
Olorunshola praised President Tinubu’s policies, saying they have impacted people at the grassroots, particularly highlighting recent government initiatives which have brought improvements in food security and the introduction of student loans as key achievements of the government.
