Christian clerics in Bauchi State have commended Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed for his proactive measures in addressing insecurity and fostering peaceful coexistence between farmers and herders in the state.

Reverend Yakubu Waziri Ribina of ECWA Church, One Bayara, gave the commendation during a Sunday sermon, praising the governor’s leadership in maintaining peace and unity.

He urged citizens to avoid actions capable of destabilising the state, stressing that no society can progress without peace.

Reverend Ribina also called for unity and love among believers, reminding them that a day of reckoning awaits everyone on how they conduct themselves.

In separate sermons, Reverend Sabo Sarki of ECWA Church, New GRA Bauchi, and Pastor Stephen Jobe of Cocin LCC, Yelwan Makaranta, emphasised the need for men to take responsibility for their families’ welfare, particularly in providing food, education, and shelter.

They highlighted the challenges facing many Nigerians, including economic hardship, and appealed to philanthropists and wealthy individuals, both Christian and Muslim to support the less privileged families who struggle to meet basic needs.

In most of the churches visited, clerics stressed the importance of households preserving family values and stability as a foundation for societal growth.
