American Cordell Tinch lived up to his impressive season form by winning the men’s 110 metres hurdles at the World Championships yesterday.

Tinch clocked 12.99 seconds for gold, finishing ahead of Jamaican duo Orlando Bennett and Tyler Mason, who recorded personal bests of 13.08 seconds and 13.12 seconds respectively.

Earlier in the evening, Grant Holloway’s bid for a fourth consecutive world title came to a halt as the American only managed to finish sixth in his semifinal.

The Olympic champion, 27, has not been at his dominant best this season, as evidenced at Tokyo’s National Stadium.
