Nigeria Cricket Federation (NCF) Electoral Committee has confirmed the candidates eligible for the forthcoming Board elections, scheduled to take place during the Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Saturday, 20th September, at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja.
To ensure a fair, credible, and transparent electoral process ahead of these crucial elections, the Electoral Committee stated that it screened the nomination forms submitted by candidates prior to the deadline, which concluded at midnight on 10th September 2025. A total of sixteen candidates have been cleared to participate in the elections, including the incumbent President of the NCF, Uyiosa Akpata, who is standing unopposed for re-election for a second term in office.
However, the committee also announced that three candidates—Emeka Onyeama, Pakribo Telema Darego, and Chimezie Onwuzilike—submitted their nomination forms after the stipulated deadline and are therefore deemed ineligible to partake in the electoral process.
Candidates selected for the election have been reminded to submit a written manifesto outlining their vision, objectives, and plans for the development of cricket in Nigeria over the next four years, in accordance with the NCF Electoral Guidelines.
The NCF Electoral Committee reiterated its commitment to facilitating a transparent electoral process that will contribute to the growth and governance of cricket in the country.
The elections of the players’ representative alongside the technical representative will hold today, September 19, while the zonal representatives, the President, and the Vice President will be chosen on Saturday, September 20, 2025.
