United Capital Plc has announced plans for a memorial service in honour of six of its employees who died in the tragic fire outbreak at Afriland Towers, Lagos, on Tuesday, September 16, 2025.

In a statement released on Monday via its official X handle, the company identified the deceased staff members as Jesutoni Shodipo, Kehinde Adeoye, Ndidi Osaemedike-Okeke, Olumide Oyefodunrin, Opeyemi Oloyede, and Rebecca Adenuga.

“It is with profound grief that we announce the passing of six of our dear colleagues, following the tragic fire at Afriland Towers,” the statement read. “Their painful loss leaves an immeasurable void.”

United Capital described the tragedy as a heavy blow to the organisation, stressing that the late employees were “an integral part of the company and its family.”

The management also extended heartfelt condolences to the families, friends, and loved ones of the deceased, pledging support during this difficult time.

“Preparations are underway for a memorial service to honour the lives of the departed staff and mark their passing with dignity and solemnity,” the company said.
