The International Association of World Peace Advocates (IAWPA) has extended its warmest congratulations to the First Lady of Nigeria, Mrs Oluremi ‘Remi’ Tinubu, on the occasion of her 65th birthday anniversary.
A statement signed by Amb Emmanuel Nkweke, the International Spokesman of IAWPA, said Mrs Remi Tinubu has been a beacon of compassion, leadership, and peace in Nigeria.
“Through her Renewed Hope Initiative, she has made impactful strides in promoting humanitarian services, educational opportunities, healthcare support, agricultural assistance, and economic empowerment, particularly for marginalised women and children,” IAWPA stated.
The spokesman said IAWPA was proud to announce Remi Tinubu as the winner of its African Queen Mother of Peace Award.
The recognition, according to the statement, honours her outstanding contributions to promoting peace, social justice, and empowerment in Nigeria and beyond.
The statement further said that the basis for honouring her includes her compassionate leadership, saying Remi Tinubu is described as a compassionate and selfless leader. “This role was also asserted by the Lagos State governor Babatunde Sanwo-Olu in his eulogy.”
“Through her initiatives, she has touched the lives of countless Nigerians, fostering hope, resilience, and empowerment among vulnerable populations.
“Inspiring Example: As noted by her husband, President Bola Tinubu, Remi is a “rock, confidante, greatest supporter,” embodying kindness, wisdom, and compassion,” Nkweke said.
The African Queen Mother of Peace Award, according to the statement, will be presented to Mrs Remi Tinubu on November 25 during the observation of the United Nations International Day. The event will be held at NAF Conference Centre in Abuja from where there will be a road walk to sensitise Nigerians on peace and an end to violence against women. There will also be a novelty match the next day to celebrate the First Lady at the Old Parade Ground, Garki, Abuja.
“IAWPA joins Nigerians and the international community in celebrating Remi Tinubu’s 65th birthday and honoring her as the African Queen Mother of Peace,” he added.
With this prestigious award, Senator Remi Tinubu will become the first wife of a serving President in Africa to such recognition.
