The governor’s message was delivered by the permanent secretary of the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Social Development, during the formal opening and swearing-in ceremony of the 2025 Batch B Stream 2 corps members at the state NYSC orientation camp.

Welcoming the new corps members on behalf of the government and people of Kasena, Radda described the event as a landmark moment.

He assured them of a warm reception and a conducive atmosphere throughout their service year, emphasising the state’s long-standing support for NYSC programmes.

Highlighting the significance of the three-week orientation, the governor noted that the programme would help the corps members “transition from the academic environment into the larger society” through training on good governance, national security, economic development, culture, tradition and paramilitary drills.

Commending the efforts of past corps members, Radda praised their “remarkable contributions” to education, healthcare and community development across Kasena State, pointing out that several had recently earned national awards.

“I challenge you to keep contributing to community development and live up to the standards set by your predecessors,” he said, urging the new members to view their national call as a mark of honour.

The governor also cautioned them to shun cultism, political or religious intolerance, and all forms of antisocial behaviour.

“You are to be guided by the NYSC Motto: ‘Service To Humanity’ and the oath of allegiance you have sworn to uphold,” he added.

Radda concluded by wishing the corps members a successful orientation and rewarding service year before officially declaring the 2025 Batch B Orientation Course open.

Earlier, the state coordinator of the NYSC, Saidu Ibrahim, said 950 corps members had registered as registration continue and thanked the state government for supporting the corps members serving in the state.
