Kuwaiti security forces have arrested a man accused of plotting to bomb places of worship in the country, the Ministry of Interior announced on Tuesday.
The suspect, identified as an Arab national, is alleged to be affiliated with a banned extremist group. According to authorities, his arrest followed what officials described as “thorough and precise investigations” by security agencies.
In a statement, the ministry said: “The suspect was apprehended after security forces confirmed his plans to target places of worship. Following the arrest, several devices and materials used in the manufacture of explosives were seized from his residence, in addition to instructions on how to prepare and use them.”
Officials stressed that the findings highlighted “the dangerous nature of the plot” and the urgent need to thwart it before execution.
The ministry assured citizens and residents that security agencies remain vigilant and will continue to take decisive action against any threat to public safety.
