Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba State has responded to those criticising his two-year administration, describing them as enemies of progress, who does not mean well for the people of the state.

The governor, who addressed about 1,500 principals and head teachers of public secondary and primary schools in the state at the Banquet Hall of the Government House, yesterday, said with the level of infrastructural rot inherited, it is better to pay deaf ears to the critics.

He noted that, those criticising him for poor performances in the last two years are only after what will benefit them, and not the masses.

„I don‘t care about what they are saying anymore. I am not going to listen to anybody. I am very focused, determined and nothing will stop me doing what I believe in.

„Nobody force me to contest for Governorship in 2023, and because God wanted me to be here, I campaigned for only one week and all of you voted me,“ he said.

The governor, therefore reiterated the commitment of his administration to fulfill the promises made to the people during the last electioneering.

He envisaged that, if he continues with the pace of work across all sectors, he was confident that the people will give him their mandate for the second term as governor of Taraba State.

„When people are talking, ‚he is not doing anything‘, I shake my head in disbelief. I look at them as enemies of progress.

„They want me to get angry and abandon the masses. At least, let me finish this first term, then I will assess what will be done in the second term.

„I know, if we move together, the people will endorse me for the second term,“ Governor Kefas said.
