The International Association of World Peace Advocates (IAWPA) has expressed deep sorrow over the sudden death of the Edo State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Agun Gbenga, who collapsed and died during a peace-promoting event in Benin City, Edo State.

In a statement issued by its International Spokesman, Amb. Emmanuel Nkweke, IAWPA described the late Commandant as a man whose life and service were defined by peace and security.

“On behalf of IAWPA, I extend our heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of the late Commandant Agun Gbenga. His untimely death is a tremendous loss, but we take solace in the fact that he died promoting peace and security, values he upheld throughout his career,” Nkweke said.

He added that Commandant Gbenga’s commitment to peace and security will continue to be remembered.

“His passing will galvanize our resolve to push for greater peace advocacy initiatives, not only in Edo State but across Nigeria. We believe that his legacy will continue to inspire efforts toward building a safer, more peaceful society for all,” the statement further noted.
