A Nigerian Army officer, identified as Lt. Samson Haruna, has been reported dead following an attack by his wife during a heated domestic feud.

He was said to have died after sustaining severe burns when his wife allegedly set him ablaze in course a of fight.

Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency expert, disclosed this in a post on his X handle on Tuesday.

Makama stated that the tragic incident, which occurred at the Wellington Bassey Barracks, Ibagwa, Abak local government area of Akwa Ibom State, has thrown the expansive barracks into mourning.

It was gathered that the said officer involved in the sad incident was also a medical doctor attached to the 6 Battalion Regimental Medical Officer (RMO).

“He, the deceased, had a heated argument with his wife, Mrs. Samson Haruna, which resulted in her dousing him with petrol, and setting him alight.
