Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) through the Secondary Education Board (SEB) has introduced a strategy to balance teaching and learning across schools in the six area councils of Abuja.

The new director of the board, Dr Sani Ladan, who made this known during the launch of the strategy tagged: “Balancing of the Subject Teachers Intervention Strategy” explained that strategising intervention becomes imperative to balance subject teachers in the area councils.

Ladan, while declaring the AMAC Zone open, said the initiative would reduce teachers’ complaints about transfer from a closer school to a distance school which results in inadequate subjects.

The director said the strategy came to the fore when he assumed office and was confronted with incessant complaints of shortage of some subject teachers and transfer.

He said the issues were discussed at the management level and agreed to embark on this intensive balancing of subject teachers’ intervention.

“This strategy is one of the many strategies to be unveiled to further guarantee academic performance and encourage teachers’ passion for the teaching profession while operating in a conducive learning environment,” he said.

According to him, the plan will also urgently remedy any noticeable academic gaps or situations and help teachers know what they are expected to teach students in their various subject specialisations.

Ladan said balancing subject teachers’ intervention initiative will continue to help students read ahead through various topics in the teaching subjects by teachers and increase understanding among the students and teachers in a safe school environment.

He urged the teachers to key into the subject teachers’ intervention initiative and balance their various subject specialisation as it will also reduce their distance school stress and boost their morale for result-oriented teaching and learning process.
