A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) based in the United States of America (USA), Alhaji Saidu Ugonoh, has mourned the demise of Hajia Sefiya Omokori, the mother of a former clerk of the National Assembly (NASS), Alhaji Ataba Sani Omolori, describing her as selfless, God-fearing and resilient.
In a message to mark two years of her passing, Alhaji Ugonoh, who served as special adviser to former Speaker of the House of Representatives Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, said the late Sefiya Omokori lived a life worthy of emulation and that her positive imprints in philanthropy, morality and adherence to cultural norms were some of her legacies.

He recalled with positive nostalgia how the late Sefiya managed royalty with moderation and strived to accommodate all who came across her with a high sense of inclusivity and dignity, despite their religious and socio-cultural standings.

He said, “While growing up, the late Sefiya Omokori treated all of us as her biological children.
She treated everyone who came across her as equals and never allowed royalty to overshadow her sense of reasoning.

“She was truly a patriot in her rights and played a critical role in ensuring the stability of the royal family by all means possible.

“She will be sorely missed. But we are consoled that her legacy of love, discipline and selflessness lives on.

“While we lack the powers to question God’s decision on her life, we are pained to miss her strong presence that signified hope, resilience and love.”
